Big Rock Teaching
Fellows Scholarship

The Big Rock Teaching Fellows Scholarship, initiated in November 2021, received a significant boost with a generous $200,000 lead gift from the Big Rock Foundation's grant committee, following the 63rd annual Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament in June 2021.

This scholarship is awarded to one exceptional graduating senior from each of our three district high schools. It covers tuition and books to a university within the UNC system. In exchange, scholarship recipients commit to returning to serve as educators within the CCPS system for four years post-graduation.

As we approach the upcoming year, we proudly mark a significant milestone. Ms. Molly Arnold, a recipient of the 2022 BRTF Scholarship, is set to graduate from ECU in 2024, becoming eligible to teach within the CCPS system in the fall of that year.

Carteret County Public School Foundation is grateful for the support of The Big Rock Foundation who have contributed over $1.4 million into Carteret County schools to date.

For those interested in applying, scholarship applications are available through school counselors.
